Jak se jmenujete Bonnie. Jak se mate? Mam se fajn. Studuju cestinu.
*translation: "Hello. My name is Bonnie. How are you? I am fine. I am studying Czech."
Today, obviously, was my first day of Czech language. It is exceptionally hard though I am please to note [and I'm sure my parents are glad to hear] I am the best in the class, says the teacher. Pretty awesome! I think my linguistics class last semester is coming in very handy. Also my natural language ability isn't hurting. The class is four hours a day starting at 9 and ending at 13:15. It has so far lived up to the title of intense. Our teacher speaks 95% Czech even while teaching. We, being the other students in the small class and myself, thought this was normal because of what we had heard it would be like. We came to find out that all the other classes teach in English. We have decided that our class is obviously the accelerated class and like to tell everyone this. Its a good self esteem boost, haha! After class we had a little orientation thing where we could ask questions and we got more of our schedule for the week: we are going on an afternoon walk both tomorrow and Wednesday, and then on Thursday we are having a boat ride with dinner. Should be pretty awesome! One of our directors, Petr, is so funny. Apparently I ask a lot of questions so we have established a relationship on this, and now he thinks that whenever I am around him I will have a question. Its pretty hilarious, and the other girls find great amusement in it, as do I. He is really funny. After class, some of the girls [the ones I hang out with: Sarah B, Sarah J, Erinn, Francesca, and Kate] and Matt, and I went into the City. We went to get phones, that are pretty necessary, seriously. Thats how our landlord communicates with us, kind of weird but whatever. Then they got some lunch and we returned. We have decided to re-name Wenceslas Square to popsicle square because it is much easier to say, haha! Well, thats about it for now.
